Jakket walked over to the fire with a pride in her step. The cut didn't seem to phase her now as it was wrapped up in her t-shirt which the remains she tossed over with the rest of their stuff. She wasn't stupid enough to leave it to be taken. It could be washed and used for more wraps later. But for now she was good. Jakket plopped herself some distance from them but still close enough to somewhat feel the fire. Jakket was not content with their cozy cuddles and wanted no part of it. Part of her wanted to just leave them now and let them be but it was dark now and they were all on their own. The more of them together the better their chances where. And Jakket had no intent of going for suicide. Not tonight.
Jakket leaned herself against the tree trunk behind her and she sighed. The warmth from the fire felt good and she knew something new was in the air. She didn't know what it was but she did know it was possible good. Jakket closed her eyes for a moment and then looked back over to Zeke and Aurora. She snorted in displeasure.
"You know, any closer and you might regret it. Lust lasts shorter than love does and then things become uncomfortable and tension will fill the air. This will lead to carelessness. You know what carelessness leads to? It leads to death." Jakket said this in a soft but firm tone, and not even her french accent could cover up the truth. The truth of it all that finding love now was a bad idea. Because if something went wrong with it then they'd be very tense around each other all the time and they'd get careless. Jakket had seen this before and she didn't need to see it again; Not now. None of them needed to see this now.
"Later mates, much later..."
Jakket sighed and turned her head to the side and closed her eyes. She was still very hungry but she denied herself more food. She had to learn to eat little and satisfy herself. She crossed her arms and had one knee bent while the other, her hurt knee, lay flat against the ground. Today had been more than intersting and now all she wanted to do was rest some. She knew there wouldn't be much sleeping, she was used to it, but she had to get whatever she could.

Aurora was content in Zeke's arms, but she wasn't quite ready for this, so after a brief moment, the connection had ended. Aurora let out a sniff, and turned away from him, back to her things. Once she had her backpack in hand, she unzipped the zipper and shoved the dagger inside. With the night getting colder, and Aurora still shirtless, she began shaking. She quickly moved closer to the fire and flopped down next to it. Any closer and she would get burned. Her head was throbbing now as she tried to concentrate and the fire.
Shiya appeared next to her, clearly not content on spending the night with any other human except Aurora. This made the 16 year old smile, she liked being Shiya's favorite, it was like a milestone in their relationship. Looking over at Jakket, she noticed that she still looked pissed. Sighing, Aurora pushed herself up from the warm fire, and walked over to the meat. Taking a steak, she stuck a chunk on one end, and than walked over to Jakket. I don't like him.. As a friend, sure, but nothing more. She wasn't mad at her assumption, she just was worrying about Jakket being mad at her. Aurora smiled and placed the stick beside Jakket before turning to grab another stick. Taking a peice of meat for herself, she made her way back to the fire and sat down. She forced the stick into the fire and began watching it cook. She felt important, she was making supper.
Smiling, she waited until it was done cooking before tentively taking small bites. It was terribly hot, but when she bit it enough to taste it, it was like she was in heaven. The flavor of the meat soaked into her tongue, and she found herself loving Shiya even more. Hey Zeke, could you give a chunk to Shiya? Aurora would love to do it herself, but she was getting way to tired as she sat there and watched the flames dance. In fact, when she was done with her kabob, she was nearly asleep, lying on the floor as she closed her eyes. She hoped that Zeke would stay up, or Jakket did. Her wound had tired her, and she needed to sleep, however, she really didn't want to wake up in a forest fire.

Zeke frowned in detest as Jakket comment his reassuring gesture. He let Aurora go and faced Jakket, he would've told her off. No doubt about that, but he really didn't need this right. He just shook his head and told himself to stay calm and get over it. Crossing his legs, he sat down with a heavy sigh and snatched up a nearby stick. As Aurora went over to chat with her friend, he grabbed a slab of meat and stuck it onto the thinner end of the stick and hung it over the fire. Just like roasting marshmellows, only it smelled of cooking meat. Glancing over, he saw Aurora on the other side of the fire, intent on cooking her meat too. He watched as he face glowed in the fire, and the fire's reflection in her eyes. After a few minutes of the meat being engulfed in the flames, he retrieved it back from the fire and let it cool down for a couple seconds.
Tearing a small piece off with his fingers, he quickly dropped it into his mouth; it burned it's fingers, it was still hot. As he chewed, he savored the flavor of the meat. He hadn't had real meat in the past few weeks, because he rarely ate it back home. Swallowing his first piece, he ripped off a bigger piece and repeated this process until the chunk of meat was completely devoured and in his stomach. Hearing his name, Zeke looked up to see Aurora gesturing toward her little jaguar, about meat. Without any comment, he nodded and grabbed a piece of the raw meat and tossed it over to where Shiya was. All was quiet after Jakket was silent, trying to sleep. And then down went Aurora, with her eyes closed. Brilliant. He thought, he would have to stay up to keep the fire going, at least until early morning where he would try to get a few hours in. Taking his stick, he jabbed at the slowly dying fire, waking it up a bit more to keep it up.
And Shiya, normally being a nocturnal animal, actually fell asleep along with the other two. Well now he had no one to talk to, no one to do anything with. He just gazed into the fire, watching the images that it flamed like it was a movie, soon getting mesmerized. He was already beginning to think about tomorrow. What they would do first is probably eat the remaining fruit and some more meat to get their energy up for bow and arrow crafting, and also finding better shelter somewhere else, maybe even getting a bit more hunting done. But really, who knows? Tomorrow will come eventually..
It was a very, very long several hours before he figured it was just about time to settle the fire down and get some Z's. But it was just how he would be able to do it, was his little problem. He figured he could get some water to weaken the fire's blazes and embers down to just glowing embers. But how would he get enough? Looking around with only the fire as his light, he found an elephant ear plant in the near distance. Zeke got to his feet, taking his knife with him, and made his way over the huge leaves. Their stems would be pretty thick, he assumed, that's why his knife was with him. With immense force, he chopped one of the leaves away from the plant and wasted no time walking back to where the river was. He climbed down the short slope that led to it and scooped up some of the water into the cupped leaf. Slowly, he made his way back up the slope and to the fire, loosing some of the water along the way. Tipping the leaf toward the fire, he watched as the water just completely killed the fire, but left the ambers to glow beneath the wood. Tossing the leaf away, he grabbed his bag and used it as a pillow. He closed his eyes with his hands rested on his stomach and he legs bent. And soon enough, he fell into a light sleep.

When morning came Jakket was no where to be seen; Her rag of a shirt and herself was gone. There wasn't any tracks to show where she had gone and there wouldn't be any. Jakket had been careful in covering her tracks for if anything Jakket was not stupid. She knew how to make it seem like she had never been some place even if she had been there continuously. But by sunrise Jakket had already been gone for an hour. Jakket decided that feeling welcome was something that just wasn't going to be there. Her stuck up personality was going to kill her eventually. But Jakket knew she had to leave and had to go on her own. She had to make progress by herself. Before she left she had taken another fruit and a half, some of the monkey meat -- although she left plenty to help fill up Zeke, Aurora, and Shiya's bellies -- and then she picked some more berries before leaving. She had washed her ragged shirt free of mud and then tied up the food in it. Jakket was tempted to take one of their knives but figured they would need them more than she would and that she could make due.
All Jakket knew now, as she walked, was that she had to find something more. She had to find somewhere else to make a living. This jungle -- rain forest -- was just too much for her. She didn't like it at all. She had been thrown into a lot of things but this was certainly knew to her. Jakket knew that her survival depended on her finding somewhere else to live. Jakket figured that there couldn't just be jungle out here -- there had to be more. A bird that flew over head making noisy sounds caught her attention and she looked up. The bird was heading north so Jakket decided she would too. She thought she had no better idea of where to go.
Jakket sighed, "I have a long journey ahead of me. All alone, too." Jakket had to remember though that it was her choice to go on alone and she shook her head as she acknowledged her stubborn nature. She also hoped that Aurora, Shiya, and Zeke would due fine without her. They didn't always seem incredibly smart but Jakket knew that if needed they would be fine. And so would she.

Aurora was extremely confused when she woke up. Waking up in a jungle was very confusing, especially when this was only your second day. Still in pain, Aurora pulled her hand up to press against her wound. She didn't really remember getting it, but ti was hurting like a bitch now! Still confused, she sat up a little too fast, making her extremely dizzy. She was up long enough to take in the shapes of what was around her. She saw smoke... a bag.. a couple of knives, one..two..three.. 7? Nah, she was just out of it. Aurora slumbed back onto the forest ground, hitting her head with a slap as she went down.
It was awhile before she woke up again, and this time she was careful to raise her head slowly. Once she was up, she began taking in her surroundings. The Jaguar at her feet startled her at first, but than she began remembering what had went down the previous day. It was probably some defect with her injury, but it looked like it would pass, and she would remember everything. Turning to look around, she noticed more things and she noticed that their was actually only 2 knives. Giggling, she picked up her sleeping Jaguar and snuggled it against her chest. Today was going to be quite a day.
Aurora turned to look at the boy sitting a few yards away. She cocked her head at him, was she supposed to remember him? Or was he just some stalked freak. And than the memory hit her of him falling out of a tree and she burst out laughing. Calming down, she looked at him hoping that he wouldn't think she was crazy. I..I lost some of my memory.. Must be this head wound.. I don't really remember much, But I remember you falling out of a tree? Aurora flashed him a smile before letting her gaze drift off of him. Her eyes made it to the fresh meat, and than BAM! Another memory hit her. It wasn't very clear, but she remembered that the boy had been holding her, comforting her it seemed. Smiling, she turned back to the boy and said, I remember cuddling too.
It was a bit of awhile before her memory picked up Jakket again. She remembered how they seemed to be friends, and she flicked her head back and forth trying to remember what happened to her. But nothing approached her. Turning back to the boy she asked, Z..Zay..ZEKE! Okay, Zeke, do you know what happened to Jakket? If it had been any other day, of course she would have remembered his name, it was just that her injury had done more damage than she had thought.
Aurora turned to investigate, it didn't seem like there was any tracks, so this confused her a lot. There was nothing for Aurora to follow. Turning back to Zeke she asked a bit worried, Did we do something to piss her off? Maybe Jakket hadn't liked seeing the two hug.. Well she needed to get over it. It wasn't like they had kissed. Zeke was just comforting her after she had skinned a fucking Monkey!

When Zeke woke up, he found himself almost drowning in water. With the panic adrenaline that he had, he swam his way to the surface and gasped for air. He looked all around him and he could see nothing, nothing but blue, blue water. Salt water, actually. He was stranded in the middle of the ocean and how he got there was clueless to him. He hit the water with his hand in anger. He couldn't stay treading water here forever, so he decided to head in the direction the sun was coming from, the east. It seemed like forever before he could see shore. And he was exhausted, just about dead.
As he used some of the strength he had left, he made it two yards until he was suddenly dragged under. Zeke yelled out a cry as he thrashed beneath the oceans surface, he was in a murky depth now with his foot in somethings mouth. He tried to strike whatever it was with his foot, but then they were going up to the surface again. He was being dragged by whatever had him now, and with intense speed they burst out of the ocean. His lungs almost collapsed being under the water for so long. And finally her turned around to see what had him... it was a killer whale. And it was tossing him around like he would with a seal, he was prey now. And as the orca opened it's mouth, he thought he was free for a second. That was until he found himself being swallowed whole...
"FUCK!"
He yelled out loud as he woke up. It looked down at his leg, and it was fine. He fell back onto his bag and crossed his arms along his forehead as he breathed to calm himself down. It was just a dream... He kept saying to himself over and over in his head, it wasn't too long before he got sick of the broken record and sat up again. He looked around to find Aurora sitting up too, looking confused with a hand to her head. She lost memory. He blinked sleepily before he could answer.
"I told you I could've helped you with it, but nooo."
He said, recalling his offer for found and fixing up her wound. He shook his hair and let it fall back into place as he looked around for Jakket. She was no where to be seen, not even any of her things. Or even tracks. He grunted. Smart girl. He thought, she had to have covered her tracks. She didn't want to be looked for, she didn't want to be followed. Hearing Aurora struggling with his name, he looked to her and waited for her to finally spit it out.
"Duude, I fell asleep. I have no idea where, or when, she left.."
He said as he got himself to his feet ro start looking around. She had taken some fruit, that was obvious. Zeke searched for any signs of a path she could've taken, or any tracks she missed. But there was no sign of her, anywhere. It was like she wasn't even with them that night. He furrowed his brow with frustration and was thinking exactly what Aurora had just asked.
"I don't... know."
He said, now suddenly confused. Was it that hug? That would be pretty damn stupid if it was, or maybe she just had to be on her own for a bit.
"Well, she's gone now. There's else we can really do.."
