Angels watch these Mountains

If he could take these words and fill them up with air, he would fly her to the stars so they can disappear. If he could take her heart and keep it close to him, it will not break and you know it will not bleed. And he believes just about anything she says. If she said "get lost" he'd ask "how far away?" And now it's getting late, and he can barely keep his eyes open, but his heart is open for her. But he managed to keep himself awake as she rested her head on his chest, he would keep her safe from all the beasties lurking about.

He wrapped his arms around her so he was loosely cupping her hands while he rested his cheek lightly on her hair, facing Paige, keeping open for conversation. He could feel his heart racing, and he was sure that she could hear it through his chest. He looked down at her sleeping body as he lightly brushed her arm with his hand, continuing to do so for a while; warming her up a little bit more. He reached his head down so his mouth was as lcose to her ear as he was going to get without completely destroying the peace, he whispered into her ear. "I'm here for you, girl..." And maybe, just maybe, she would dream about him. Returning his head back up to where it was, he gently kissed her hair before resting his cheek on her head again.

"So.." He said softly. "How long have you been here?"

He started to spark up some talking, but starting with the easiest thing that he could think of. They all had this in common, being here alone; but they had each other.. so were they really alone? He blinked, as if to shrug, but he didn't want to disrupt Aurora. Well, it's as if trust can be gained within.. a day. Zeke flicked his eyes to gaze at the fire as it crackled and burned and created little images that danced around; how lively it must be to live in a fire.. He was completely warm now, with the fire and with Aurora. It was enough to make it through the night, but what about Paige? Well ,I always have another arm open to her, if she wants. He thought to himself, but of course she wouldn't know that. Maybe Shiya would cuddle with her. He chuckled lightly, but turned his gaze back to Paige.

Aurora wasn't asleep just yet. She was snuggled against Zeke's chest and feeling very tired, but she didn't want this night to go away just yet. If she let her body take over, she would be out and bam it would be morning. Closing her eyes, she pushed herself closer to him as she heard him murmur about him being there. A smile crossed her face as she lifted her head to look at him. Her brown chocolate eyes were melting into his, and before she died, she pulled her gaze farther upward, looking at the night sky. She could see the flames of the fire dance up the sky as she traced the constellations in the blackened sky.

Suddenly, she saw exactly what she was looking for. Pushing herself up, she pushed her face into his, not for a kiss, but so there noses were touching. Her white teeth sparkled as she summoned up enough energy to laugh, I found the big dipper. Blinking, she slid back into his safe hold and snuggled back up close, resting her head against his chest once again. It felt good to win once in awhile. Still smiling, she grew drowsy again, slowly falling deeper into sleep as she listened to Zeke's heart beat. It was like a lullaby.

Still not completely asleep, Aurora turned her head so she could look at Paige. Her gaze was extremely sleepy, but she wanted to make sure Shiya was alright. She can sleep with you tonight.. Aurora tried to mumble. She would be surprised if Paige made out what she was trying to say. Giggling, she turned her head back into his chest and let him kiss her head again. Thinking, she remembered she didn't even know how old he was. She didn't care though, that didn't matter. She had figured out he was older than her, but surely not by much.

With his eyes being closed for the past few minutes, he was a little shocked to feel her stir up. Zeke opened his eyes again, and looked at her as she looked at him. He smiled and gazed back at the resting fire that had gotten a bit sleepy. So with his foot, he lightly kicked it to get the embers kicked back in gear; and it had worked. It woke up the fire as it reached toward the starlit sky.

And out of no where, he found himself nose-to-nose with the girl. At first, he didn't know what to think of it. But after hearing what she had to say, he laughed. He gave up hours ago, but that meant that he basicly handed the win over to her.. or Paige, whoever decided to play.

"Of course you did."

He said as she settled back down in his arms again, it's been so long since he felt like this. He heaved a sigh and closed his eyes again, only to open them again when Aurora spoke again, but this time it was to Paige. He adjusted his grip as he leaned his back against the rock while he still rested his cheek on her pretty little hair, he closed his eyes for one final time before he drifted off to dreamland.

After a couple of hours or so, it would probably be around two in the morning, if he thought right. Zeke hadn't had a dream lastnight, at least not one that he could remember. He blinked several times before his eyes got adjusted and he saw the almost dead fire; he wouldn't wake it. The wood was almost completely burned to ashes anyways. He lifted his head and looked over to see Paige still sleeping with Shiya before he looked down at Aurora; still asleep. He held her tighter, because now they didn't have the company of the fire to keep them warm. And since he was up already, he felt quite hungry.. and when he felt hungry, he couldn't go back to sleep even if he tried.

Paige let out a content sigh. Everyone was happy, for the most part that was. Something was certainly going on between Aurora and Zeke. Some soft of freaky connection. She loved what was going on between them. She loved all the mushy romance stuff and watching Aurora and Zeke was like a page out of a book. So cute, so sweet. So innconcent. "Did I say you where dancers? You guys are great stage performers." She said with a little laugh. She smiled again at Zeke next words. He didn't exactly come acorss as the snuggley kind of guy, but people prove you wrong.

Right now, Shiya was her little compaion, well thats the way Paige imagined it. She knew all to well that she fully belonged to Aurora. Maybe one day she would have her own little creature to cuddle with and stroke and give endless amounts of accfection to. Zeke had lit a fire. That was good, warmth and Aurora was right next to him, more warmth. For some reason, Paige felt like she didn't really belong. It kinda stung, it also reminded her of her family. The girl casted another gaze towards the pair. They where so happy! Her eyes soften as she continued to stare at them. She suddenly noticed Zeke gaze on her along with Aurora. Yes! Shiya would be hers for the night. One night at the least. It was a good thing to, that fire wasn't big enough for the three. Heres where they saying 'Two company threes a crowed' came into play. She felt welcomed though.

Paige took advantage of Shiya being hers and brought her close to her, her spotted fur warming her. She was sure Shiya was a bit chilly also. For heaven's Sakes she belonged in the Rainforest! Slwoly Paige rested her head placing it on the ground. She was doing the unthinkable, sleeping on the moutain instead of climbing it. She would save that for another time. She gave one last look at the pair, as if making sure they where both safe. They where her friends now, and she was a friend to them. It was nice to know she wasn't alone in the world. She closed her eyes and let sleep welcome her.

Aurora had drifted off again, once she was sure her friend was content. She trusted Paige, even though they only met a few hours ago. Aurora trusted the girl to keep her Jaguar safe. Aurora was sure she loved her friend, more than anyone out here. Aurora was open to loving Jakket, but they weren't that close yet. The thought of being in love didn't really appeal to her, just yet anyway. She did like Zeke, a lot, and right now she could think of no other place she would rather be. And yet still, thinking of them being together kind of scared her. It wasn't that she didn't want, heck she wanted to! It was just that she had heard so many stories of terrible heart ache, and things that Aurora couldn't really handle. She knew that if she were going to fall in love, it needed to be for the long run.

Shiya had fallen asleep in Paige's arms, perfectly content. It was exactly how Aurora felt in Zeke's. The fire was still blazing as Aurora drifted into complete unconciousness, or maybe that was just her heart, beating like a hummingbird's wings. She felt light, and feahtery, and she was completely convinced that when she woke up, he would be gone, and she would be back in her home, with her drunk dad.

But when she did wake up, she noticed she was still in his arms. Turning her head, she looked into his eyes before resting her head against his neck as she wrapped her hand around his body. Morning.. She whispered, she was a bit groggy from everything happening, but she was still awake, and here. Looking over at Paige, she blinked in warmth, her cat was still ok. Aurora needed to thank Paige because if she had not been here, Shiya would have gotten very jealous. Smiling, she began rubbing her feet back and forth against each other. It was just than that she had noticed that the fire was out and it was a hell of a lot colder. Her shirt was still on, thankfully, but it wasn't enough to keep her warm. She began shaking against Zeke's body..

With Zeke resting his head back on the rock, staring up at the still-twinkling stars, he had been awake for hours now. But at least Aurora was awake now, as he felt her slight movement of just waking up. He looked down at the girl and peeked through her still sleepy eyes. He smiled as she wrapped her arms around him, and, slowly, he rubbed her upper arm.

"Morning, sunshine.."

He said softly before he glanced over at Paige and Shiya, still asleep. With a sigh, he felt Aurora shivering; of course she would be cold without the fire, and him only loosely holding her. As to response to her sudden shivering, he pulled her closer and kept her bare arms covered by his. He rested his lips on her hair, he closed his eyes. He truly was tired, and he probably looked just about dead with some dark circles under his eyes. But Zeke didn't care, they would go away sooner or later. Because right now, he was focused on the girl that he currently held. Opening his eyes again, he figured he would mention food..

"You hungry?"

He debated whether to add in baby or not, he decided not to. Not yet, at least. It was a bit too soon before he would go there, you know? Even though he, uh, very well iked her, he didn't feel right saying it. Well, he wasn't in a hurry for an answer, so he closed his eyes again. Not to sleep, but to rest his tired, tired eyes.

Somewhere in the distance she heard a roar. Well it was pretty much only a kind of Meowrrr rather then a roar. She turned around and saw a little cougar cub. It was so cute and it was running right towards her Paige smiling the whole time through it.

You hungry?

The cub disappeared and was replaced by pitch black darkness. She felt freezing and nuzzled her face further into Shiya pelt. The cat probably kept her alive because if the jaguar wasn't there, Paige would have froze to death. She owed Shiya one. Slowly her senses where coming back to her and she realized just how could she really was. She blinked her eyes slowly, Zeke had woke her up and Paige was pretty sure that Aurora was up also, though she doubted the cat in her arms was awake.

Stiffly, she pushed her self up on one elbow, Shiya still at her chest. She was still recovering from sleep. Aurora was in Zeke's arms and all that romantic stuff from last night came back. Aaaaawwww She thought with a small smile. She glanced up top, it was still dark with stars and Paige womdered what time it was. She sat up fully and began stroking Shiya. Her on hands where very cold and it warmed them up. She put her other and into her bag as if expecting something new would be inside. Only that of yesterday, bow and arrow and a few berries. She grasped a small one and popped one into her mouth. It was practitly frozen but is was good all the same. She put her hand back in craving for more. She realized she wasn't the only one here.

Zeke, She began as she extened her out out to him, "Want some?" She asked. Only three he could have, if Aurora was to have any. They where her friends now, and she would treat them as such. Hopfully one day they would return the small gesture. Food out here wasn't as easy as just opening up the frigerator.

She was still falling asleep as she shivered, and yet she couldn't completely just let go and sleep. It must be the fact that she was somewhat excited, dispite how exhuasted she was. She was in someone's arms! And this time, she wasn't being strangled. Aurora remembered her angry tusles with her brothers. Now those had been interesting. Aurora had nearly died a few times, for her brothers beat her mostly. But she remembered one time where she had thrown a move on them that they had not been expecting. After that, they thought twice before attacking her. Aurora smirked as she thought of the memory.

As Zeke looked at her, Aurora blinked sleepily at him. How long ago had it been since they hated each other? She remembered that fall so well, it had made her day. Him falling on his ass. But soon after, Aurora had fallen multiple times on hers, so she really shouldn't be talking. However, her blood loss probably had something to do with it, Zeke didn't really have an excuse for being dumb. She loved it though. She liked how she could count on him to make her laugh and to lift her spirits. Still blinking sleep from her eyes, she re curled herself up to him, she would be warmer that way.

Ehya, me Hungry!

Aurora laughed, she loved quoting her favorite childhood memory of all time. The cookie monster. She loved that blue character so much that she found herself quoting him when she was 16. It always brought her good laughs and memories. The memories were with her mother, so of course they were happy. Still smiling, she pushed her forehead against his and looked him in the eyes. Her sly smile appeared as she giggled, Of course I'm the cookie monster. She smiled at him before turning to look at the sky, it was slowly turning from black to purple. It was defiantly morning now, time to get up. However, Aurora didn't. She wanted to be in this boy's arms.

Paige was two steps ahead of Aurora and Zeke with food. She smiled as she watched her hand Zeke some berries. Paige probably thought she was still asleep, which she half was. Closing her eyes again, she pushed her face back against his body. She wasn't starving, so she decided to wait on breakfast. Her stomach had never been good with early morning snacks. Especially in the car. However, there were no cars out here, and she was in the fresh air, so it might be different. Aurora didn't really want to take any risks, she didn't want to get sick, because than she wouldn't be able to cuddle with Zeke. Though somewhere deep inside of Aurora, she thought that he would take care of her if she did get sick. That's why she liked him so much, he was so sweet! Her first impression of him had totally changed now, and that's why she gives people second chances. Jakket was missing out on meeting such an incredible boy.

The sky was slowly turning from purple to blue as Aurora continued to cuddle with Zeke. She had no reason to leave, and it wasn't like a bear was attacking them, so why leave? Aurora was perfectly content in spending the day cuddled up with Zeke. However, she knew it was going to end sooner or later. Thinking though, she was pretty sure that they would be able be together all day. This was a different world, it wasn't like they had responsibilities anyway. Giggling, Aurora eyes moved to take a look at Shiya, and that was when she noticed something was wrong. Shiya was away from Paige's grasp and she was slowly stalking something that was too far away to lay eyes on. What had her attention? Aurora thought that it might possibly be a bird or something small, but on the journey up the mountains, the Jaguar had payed no attention to these small creatures.

Getting a little worried, Aurora looked up to Zeke. Her expression was puzzled as she went from Zeke, to Paige. She signaled over to Shiya, who was now bristling and letting out Growls. Alarmed, Aurora jumped up from where she was sitting and ran over to her animal, looking in the direction where her Jaguar was facing. And that was when she saw it. Her first instinct was to be completely freaked out, but for some strange reason, she was relatively calm. Taking an inward breath, she slowly began stroking Shiya's rugged pelt. She didn't want to attract the giant creature who had not noticed them yet. It appeared to be a polar bear.

As Aurora looked at it, she began to calm down quite a bit more. For one thing, the bear was small. He looked like a bear that had recently left his mother. Taking another deep breath, she turned to Zeke. They could all easily kill it, especially with Shiya on there side. However, something stopped her. That was when the bear turned to look at them. Aurora could see that it was tiny, her eyes were probably playing tricks on her. Turning to Zeke, she spoke to him calmly.

It looks like it's still young... Do you want it?

Want some? He instantly opened his eyes and lifted his head to look at Paige. She was holding something in her hand, he narrowed his ice blue eyes to see what was in it. Food? Food! He nodded with a smile and reached out his hand. With the berries in his hands now, he popped all of them into his mouth at once. It was like they were just out of the fridge, nice and cold. He thanked Paige for the gift and replaced his arm back to hold the sleepy girl in his lap. But when Aurora exclaimed something, he flinched and stared at her as she laughed; he didn't quite get the joke. That was when her forehead met his, and she said that she was the cookie monster. Now he got it. He just shook his head. Silly girl. He thought.

As she nuzzled her head back into his chest, he placed a hand on her hair to move it out of her face. He brushed his hand on her cheek gently before placing it back down around her arms, which were still cold. Then again, everyone and everything was cold. Off in the near distance, Zeke heard a somehwat aggressive growl. He looked up in alarm to see Shiya stalking something off in the snow. Puzzled, he furrowed his brow and looked down at Aurora.. who also looked at him with a puzzled look, then to Paige. He let his arms slide right off of her as she got up to see what was up. It was when she froze when he picked himself up and walked lsowly over to her and her cat. Seeing the white ball snuffling around in the snow, most of the color drained from his face as his jaw dropped just a sliver.

Slowly, again, he crouched down to his hands and knees; trying not to seem as a threat to the potentially dangerous animal. He wasn't afraid, he just knew that if they made one mistake.. it could be their heads, so he would rather play it safe. Glancing back at Paige and then to Aurora stroking her jaguar, he heard her ask him if she wanted to capture the little tyke. He shrugged, deciding that he couldn't hurt to take it in since there was really no mother around that they could see.

"Sure."

He said in a hushed tone, he turned his attention back to the little cub; how would he get it to trust him enough to approach him? The monkey they had gotten two days ago was all the way back in the forest. Bears could eat berries.. couldn't they? Hmmm.. He turned around to face Paige.

"Do you think you could spare another berry or two?"

He asked, she didn't have to give it to him, but it didn't hurt to ask.

She wondered after they all managed to find food, maybe make another fire, what they would all do next. Paige was sure that the trio didn't want to spend another night on the moutain, atleast she for sure knew she wasn't going to do that again. Although she had Shiya, and did have somewhat of a pleasant dream, her sleep last night was terriable and she couldn't fully block out the cold. Sooner or later she would leave, maybe by mid afternoon unless plans changed. Maybe she could find some soft of food, maybe a berry bush or something. She didn't really know if you could find any food on a mountain.

She heard Aurora mubled something that Paige couldn't fully understand. The black haired girl was still in Zeke's arms. She was glad that the pair wasn't afriad to...Show there emotions if that would be the right words, around her. They could all be comfortable. Aurora said something elese though still Paige didn't understand, though he firguared she didn't even really need to know by the way she gazed up into his eyes.

Good, atleast Zeke liked the berries. He wondered weather or not he would complain at its frozen temperure but said nothing. She gave a nod of approval. Paige replaced her hand to begin stroking Shiya once more but all her hand found was the cold snow. Anxiously Paige scanned for any sign of that cat and quickly began to worry. She cared awfully much about Shiya. Instantly Paige turned her concerned gaze onto Aurora, and noticed the same in her own face. Paige followed Aurora's gaze and quickly heard a growl.

Paige also got to her feet as Aurora ran over to Shiya. She flipped her look to Zeke who shared the similar look on his face. As Zeke began walking over to Aurora, Paige quickly followed in his actions jogging a little to catch up. And then she layed her eyes on a snowy white animal that appreared to be a bear, a polar bear. Like anyone expected, Paige's experssion instantly soften as she melted at the cubs looks. Her weak spot. And then Aurora offered the cub to Zeke.

Envy stung Paige just a little. If it was even a little fox Paige would still have felt the same way, because of coures it was an animal. She gazed down at the little cloudy cub and sighed. He or she was super cute. She had to admit though, she couldn't see herself taking care of a cub. Sure she could love it, which she already seemed to be 'crushing' on it if you will though things would be hard for her. Zeke agreed! She thought with delight, the envy swiped away. This meant of coures, she would be able to cuddle with the polar bear. Only though, if Zeke allowed her, and the little cub.

Zeke had thought up a good idea, luring the cub with berries. Started off with eight. PAige thought to herself. Then one for me, and three for Zeke. She continued. Which now leaves four. Aurora would have been given three, and leaving one of me She said quickly, she couldn't heistant with this for Shiya may scare the cub away. Oh yes, Paige was great at math. Paige handed over the remaining four berries to Zeke willingly. What else could she have done? Let the poor cub go? Certainly not.
