"You're not a wolf though... you cant be brothers," She had said in a sassy tone, glaring at Mckay. Mckay had glared back, coming closer to her. His eyes were hidden beneath his hair but the girl could still feel his eyes burning into her. He was so close to her now that she could feel his breath upon her face. It was heavy and uneven as if he was angry -- which the girl knew he was. For she had purposely picked this fight.
"We are more brother than you are sister to yours." Mckay hissed. When he spoke of her sister, she let out a huff as she rolled her eyes. Now the girl looked up at Mckay, clearly unhappy. Her eyes were blank as if the emotion had been completely stripped from her.
"I have no sister," She replied cooly, then stepping back a bit from Mckay. Mckay looked her over once more, and she did the same to him. They stood in silence for a long while, just staring at each other. Neither human felt uncomfortable or if they did they showed no sign of it.
"I'm Jakket," The girl replied. Mckay grunted as he nodded in response. Another moment of silence passed before Mckay spoke.
"I'm Mckay. This is Shiloh..." Mckay said as he motioned towards the wolf who sat to his left. Shiloh looked at Mckay at the mention of his name. Jakket looked at the wolf again, smiling softly. The wolf had a warm, cozy feeling radiating from her. She wasn't sure if it was because of the bond that Mckay and Shiloh had, or if it was just Shiloh himself.
After a moment Jakket decided to try her luck and approach the two. She walked over and gently extended her hand towards Shiloh. Shiloh outstretched his neck to greet her hand, sniffing at it. Then he rubbed his nose against her palm before getting to his paws and coming closer. Jakket took the opportunity to lean down in closer. She was then greeted by Shiloh's wet nose sniffing around her face. Jakket laughed and giggled, nudging his face away only for the sniffing to be replaced by licking.
"Well hello there, Shiloh," Jakket said cheerfully, ruffling his scruff as he licked her face. Mckay watched all of this in amazement. Shiloh was friendly, this was true... but never had Shiloh been so eager and nice to another human. He had met few so far, but Shiloh had always been reserved. Shiloh was acting as if Jakket was Mckay. Only Mckay had ever had such response from his brother.
"He must really like you..." Mckay suddenly said, a smile crossing his face. Jakket looked up, the sun partially in her eyes making her squint. A smile also appeared across her face as she said, "Oh, yeah?"
"Yeah..." Mckay said, nodding. It only took a moment for Mckay to plop down on the beach floor, making a loud thudding noise as he did. Shiloh jumped slightly, looking at Mckay for reassurance. It only took Shiloh a moment to realize it was only Mckay sitting. Shiloh was extremely nervous as he interacted with Jakket. But once Shiloh realized the thud was only Mckay, he turned his attention back to Jakket. He even yapped softly as he licked her face. Jakket laughed and giggled, and even Mckay chuckled. It wasn't long before Shiloh's tail was wagging playfully and he was jumping around Jakket and Mckay.
The waves rolled in, the tips of them catching Mckay's feet. He had been staring at his feet and when the cold water touched his bare feet he was broke from his trance. He had been thinking of Shiloh again... a bad habit he couldn't seem to break. This time he had been thinking of the day he met Jakket, Shiloh's packmate. In a way Jakket was also Mckay's packmate but at the same time they weren't.
Mckay hissed at himself, cursing under his breath. Mckay knew that Shiloh was happy with Jakket and that they needed each other more than Mckay needed Shiloh. Mckay would make due but he couldn't seem to get passed the fact that Shiloh was no longer around. It had been a good six months sense he had last seen them and he felt that that was too long. Mckay had traveled around some and had tried to avoid this particular beach... but a few weeks back he had it in his right mind to come to the beach. Now, after a long journey, he was here... alone.
The sun was setting along the horizon of the ocean, the sky filled with pinks, reds, and oranges. It was turning into a lovely evening although Mckay did not enjoy the fact that he was spending it alone.
Slowly Mckay got half way up, thrusting his body backwards into the sand, making a loud thudding noise as he hit the ground. He had pushed himself back far enough so the water wouldn't reach his feet anymore and he could just relax. Dropping his upper half of his body back into the sand. He looked up into the brightly coloured sky for a moment before closing his eyes and sighing.

Flip-flops in one hand, and her bag in the other, Paige rolled up her tan pants to the knee and walked in the grainy sand, putting preassure inbewteen them, sending sand inbetween her toes. Ezera frocklicked in the sand as a 5 month old kitten would. Thats what she was, a 5 month old. A five month old Snow Leopard that was. She gazed down at her little kitty with affection. She had grown so close to the cat in the two months they had spent together. The Snow leopaed had grown so fast before Paige's eyes she could barely believe it. Paige had taken the time to show the wild cat around Echo, but they hadn't got much farther then the Snow Angles, where Paige felt paritcualrly at home for some reason.
Paige herself if she could remember right had only come to the Snow Angles and the Beach where she was now. Her second favorite place. Ezera would just have to get used to this new home away from home, but Paige was sure that wouldn't take long tim for her kitty to get used to the beach. Lucky for Ezera, she could no longer be put in Paige's bag for transportation and proection for the Snow Leopards sake. She hated it, and the wild cat had gained enough wieght now that the bag could no longer support her.
The roar of the waves was new to Ezera, it frightened her a bit, but her curiousity over powered her feffar. She full throttled it and blasted straight towards the water. The water roared at the black spotted cat and spalshed her. The water went to about a bit past where he knees would have beem. Ezera rushed out of the water, trying to groom herself. Paige chuckled. Ezera, seeing that she wasn't going to get dried anytime soon, went back into the water, splashed and trying to catch the water in her jaws.
Paige decided to join in on the run, running into the water and soaking all her clothes. The two played in the water for a bit, and Paige swam deeper out. Ezera cautiously paddle out to join her. It was pretty deep for her, and her breed normally would never swim in their entire life. Paige floated on her back and watched the clouds. The water was getting a bit colder now, causing some unpleasantness. The blonde girl swam back out to the shore and flopped onto the sand as Ezera continued playing in the waves.
Paige turned onto her side, tracing stick figuares into the sand and other doodles only for the water to wash it away. She blinked a couple of times. There was a person some yards aways. She might as well go and investigate. She whistled to Ezera who came out of the water begrudgingly and whinning. She spotted the person to and began to run ahead of the more cautious Paige.
As she came closer she noticed how it was a boy. A familair boy. A boy that she had actually meet her before. Before Ezera, before Echo seemed to come back to life. "Mckay?"

Mckay had found himself lost in thought, and slightly dozing off. He was in a comfortable position laying there in the warm sand -- his hands behind his head and his chest bare of his shirt, as usual. He just wore a pair of dark blue -- almost black -- jeans and a pair of checkered boxers underneath which showed above his pantline in that obvious boyish fashion. Mckay was nearly asleep by the time Paige and Ezera had made their way towards him. He didn't even hear them coming near him until he heard his name being called; Mckay? Lazily Mckay grunted and shifted, not even opening his eyes. It took Mckay a moment to realize that someone had actually called his name. It took him by surprise, but he was too tired to care. He shifted slightly to his side, opening his eyes. His vision was a little blurry and distorted at first but he recognized the human once she came into a clear view.
"Mmm, Paige?" He echoed her surprise. It had been a long while sense Mckay had seen Paige; In fact it had been a very long time. Mckay figured it had been about a year, maybe less, sense he had seen her. His memory of her was sketchy; He couldn't recall much of their meeting. All he could remember was her happening upon him with Shiloh... He remembered feeling angry towards her for what she had said to him, but then them making up by going for a swim. The actual swim he didn't remember... and anything after that.
Mckay shifted back, propping himself up with one arm, looking at Paige a little more closely. She was just as pretty as he remembered, if not more so now. And now... Paige had a companion. Seeing the cub made Mckay sad as he thought of Shiloh. The cub was curious, which Mckay didn't mind. She was a gorgeous little cub and Mckay thought it was nice for Paige to have someone to tag along... just like Mckay had had Shiloh. Mckay smiled for a moment, then turned his attention back to Paige. A lazy grin crossed his face as he looked at her and spoke.
"How're you?" The cheesy grin he gave her was unnecessary, but he gave it to her anyways. Mckay felt suddenly more cheerful to see someone familiar although he half wished it was Jakket and Shiloh. Mckay couldn't complain... he could only hope that Paige would stick around for a bit... and that he would actually remember it this time.

Ezera was extremely curious of this new person. She had only met, what three people? Cel, Aurora and maybe Zeke? But even those people she didn't even get to invisitage more. She raced across to the new boy and ran full speed into him, in a weak attempt to knock him down. He smelly funny, well different then the others she had met. He smelled like some other creature, but she didn't know what is was. She reached up her padded white paw and batted at his black hair.
Paige was very embarrassed by her compaion's actions. Very very. Obivously she was just a kitten, but she did need to learn some manners! she picked up her pace to a jog and scupped up Ezera into her arms to stop annoying the boy. Her face went bright red. This wasn't the way she had imagined seeing Mckay again.
But it didn't seem to matter much. As she stared down at him, he seemed to have been asleep. He didn't look much different really, still shirtless like last time, but that wolf, that, what was his name? Shiloh? Shiloh was it? Yes he wasn't here, which was odd because she remebered they seemed to be very attached to one another. Didn't Mckay even remark that they where brothers? And Paige hadn't remember that going to well with him, he seemed to have gotten mad at her and then they where going to go swimming...And after that, she couldn't remeber. It seemed that was when Echo kinda died oddly. The two never had gone swimming either which was a shame.
If Paige wasn't so lost in her memories, she might have taken note how he hadn't woken up for a few more moments, which would have worried her or put her in some discomfort. Ezera squrimed in her arms, and Paige gathering her thoughts finally caught Mckay reawakening. She smiled as he said her name. He was propped up now, but Paige towarded over him while she was standing. She hiestanted, but in the end (which was a few moments) she say down besides him in the sand, release Ezera, who surprisingly obeintly stood by her side, but continued watching Mckay with bug eyes. Again she ran her index finger in the sand, making a sun.
"Extremely tired." She said, flopping back onto the sand and watching the fat lazy clouds pass over head. She was surprised how comfortable she felt around Mckay. It was just different with Aurora and Zeke. More like the third tire type of thing with them. She wanted to ask him about Shiloh, and a lot of other things. Who he had met, when she had gotten Ezera. She just wanted to talk, which was something uncommon of her. This time though, she would try to aviod any touchy subject with Mckay, and the missing Shiloh could set off Mckay as quick as anything. "Whats up in your life?" She asked. Maybe then he would open up about Shiloh to her. And go swimming, to fininsh what they started.
