these whereabouts unknown, please know you can come home
'All I have to do is take one more step.' The wind roared around her, whipping her black hair back away from her face, sending it flying around crazily so that the girl took on the look of an avenging angel, ready to take lives. It was hurting her ears, the wind was, as it lashed at her, determined to make her take that final step over the edge of the cliff that would send her plummeting to the rocky shore of the Aegean Sea some half mile below where she stood now. The girl closed her ice coloured eyes and took a deep breath; the sharp tang of saltwater and seaweed filled her lungs to capacity. there was no fear on her face, only a look of pure peace even as she knew that she was going to die very soon. The breath that had been residing in her lungs was slowly released in the form of carbon dioxide, and her eyes opened for a moment, a tear lingering in the right one, before she swiftly blinked it away, not wanting to show any weakness.
The wind rose in pitch; it was now howling, screaming its fury at her, encouraging her to take the plunge into eternity. It snarled against her back, trying to push her over the ledge that would help her to the black gates of Tartarus. She leaned her weight back against the wind, allowing her mind to pretend that it was not the wind, but instead a person, a kind, handsome boy, willing to take her away and carry her off into the fairytale sunset on a massive gray stallion like those in the books her mother once read her. A knight in black armor, come to sweep her off her feet and whisk her away to a story-time ending. However, as the wind died down, the girl leaned her weight forward so that she wouldn't fall backward; no, she only wanted to fall forward. Aeryn drew in a very deep breath, letting her mind relax as she decided that it was time to take that final step. slowly, carefully, she let her foot slide forward, and then, stepped off into air.
The drop had not seemed to take all that long. One step, a short fall, a brief flash of pain that started in the center of her chest where the stake-like rock had impaled her body, then a slow fading sensation as the last breath exhaled from her dying body. It had been so easy, she mused as she drifted along in what she assumed was the feeling of her body gliding along the River Styx, that now she was wondering why she had not done it sooner than that. Of course, she had thought about it; contemplated what it must be like as your heart beats its final beat; and she had planned out several ideas that she could've done. However, father dearest always seemed to find out about these little plans and made sure that she was stopped long before she could gather the needed materials in order to actually do the suicide. it had taken a very long time to slip away from him to do this, but then again, everyone says that the fun is in the fall. And fall she had.
Death was, oddly enough, very cold. Aeryn found this very odd; all the books and texts that she had read in her short lifetime had said that Tartarus was a very hot place, and she was sure she would end up there. The priests said that those who kill themselves end up in the blackest parts of Hell. But not, this Hell was chilled to the bone and the black haired girl was beginning to realize that she was laying on something soft and yet solid at the same time. That made no sense; nothing in her books said that Tartarus would be like this. Slowly, cautiously, she opened one ice blue eye and then both flew open. She was laying on the side of a mountain, utterly alone. Immediately she knew that she was not in Tartarus; no, she knew that she was very far from her home of Athens, Greece. She wasnt even sure that she was on the same planet as she had been.
'Where the hell am I?' The thought meandered its way through her mind as she slowly sat up, shivering slightly. She was still dressed in her clothes; a pair of ripped ad shredded black jeans that showed bits of her pale legs; a black HIM tee-shirt with long sleeves and a large raven on the front of it; and a black and gray hoodie with many stars and pentagrams on it. But this land was different, so very different from the sandy shores of Greece. The mountain was cloaked in a blanket of the white stuff she knew was snow, but had never actually seen in real life before, only on television shows such as Planet Earth. She was sitting on a ledge that was jutting out from the side of the mountain, sticking out over the land around it, which, from where she was, seemed to be a large valley. A tremble wracked through her suddenly and she whimpered.
She stood up slowly and was almost knocked over by the sudden icy blast of wind. She reached out and grabbed onto a small rock that was embedded in the side of the mountain. Steadying herself, she rose to her full height, still shaking with fear and worry. Her lips parted suddenly, as though of their own accord and a single word left her vocal cords. "Hello?" The word echoed a thousand times around her, making her look around as though expecting a person to step out and explain where she was. She moved closer to the side of the mountain, then slowly sank down into the snow and leaned back against the chilled granite. Her breathing increased as the fear grew inside her. She was alone and had no idea how to survive in this odd, empty land. And to make matters worse, as she sat there shaking, she heard an eerie howl go up. 'Wolves.' She thought, going even more pale.
Her keen eyes scanned the mountain that was adjacent to this one that she was on and after a moment, spied the source of the noise. She noticed several black-ish hued shapes racing effortlessly over the icy slopes of the smaller mountain. Aeryn gave a low whimper of fear; how long would it be until they found her? She reached around behind her, gathering her hair in one hand and pulling the hood up over her head with the other. She then stuffed her hands into the pockets of the hoodie and pulled her knees up to her chest, resting her forehead on them and shaking with cold and fear. This was horrible and she knew it, and, as she felt the temperature drop, signaling sunset, she knew it would be a bloody miracle if she even made it through the long night ahead. Her lips parted again and words emitted. "I want to go home." She had stepped over the edge intending to die and had instead stepped into a fairytale.

The snow of the mountains was seeping into her shoes. Esme tutted, this wasn't the first time the things that were suppost to be keeping her feet warm had given her trouble. Whilst in the forest, the rain had managed to soak her socks thoroughly. So now her converse were practicaly ruined. Sighing, she Pulled her hood tighter to keep warm, Esme trudged through the thick snow that layered the floor. It was hopeless, trying to keep warm, on a freezing cold mountain, with nothing but some jeans and a band hoodie to protect her from the icey wind.
She had not seen anyone whilst in this strange place, and was beginning to believe that their was nobody here except her, which was not good. Being in a strange place, with nobody to answer her questions, was definatly not good. It wouldn't take her long to get lonely.
Shivering, Esme sat down under a small ledge, hoping for cover. Why did she have to end up here? What had she done that was so wrong? As if on queue, a long, spooky howl sounded from the distance. Great. Not only was she stuck on a mountain, with nobody around, she was stuck on a mountain, with nobody around, but wolves. Wolves! For gods sake. Deciding that it probably wasn't a good idea to hand about in one place for to long, she stood up, and moved away from the ledge, just as a blast of icey wind struck, almost nocking her over. As she stumbled backwards, her head hit against the rock she had just been hiding under. Fustration got the better of her, as she yelped in pain and anger.
Esme walked further up the mountain, shivering, trying to sheild herself from the evergrowing cold. She froze as a noise sounded not far away. Wolves? Not knowing what it was felt scary, she didn't know what may be living here, and didn't know what they were capable of either. Edging slowly towards the sound, she gasped as her eyes set upon another human, the sudden movement sent a pang of pain through her head, but she didn't think about that. Esme was to hung up on the thought that she wasn't the only one here after all! Here was someone to talk to! Perhaps this girl would be able to answer he questions? She looked older then Esme, maybe by a couple of years? And had long black hair. Judging by the look of her, maybe she couldn't answer any questions, the girl looked just as lost as Esme felt. She walked slowly towards her, and stopped a couple of feet away. Hello?

[/img] a show of hands from those in this audience of one Aeryn lifted her head slowly, her eyes sweeping the adjacent mountain slowly as she sat, tense and fearful, knowing it would not be long before the snow-loving predators found her and killed her. The idea of the creatures ripping into her flesh and consuming her every piece of skin sent a flash of fear through the young girl. She lowered her head back to her knees, shaking once again as the wind somehow made its way up under her little ledge and swept over her, causing her clothes to billow wildly around her. She shuddered and lifted her head one more, pushing her hood back and reaching deeper into the pockets of her hoodie to draw out a a small pony tail holder that was black and blue striped. She gathered her long black hair in one hand and slipped the band around her hair, tying it back out of her face so that she could more easily look around without have to constantly push her hair out of her face.
She then pulled her hood back up and replaced her freezing hands into her pockets, whimpering softly as a loud howl sounded nearer to her position. Surely the creatures had not caught her scent that fast? Aeryn breathed in slowly, trying not to move and trying not to make a sound as she shifted her weight in the snow. It was seeping into her jeans and underwear, like ice against her skin as she sat there. Her breath came out a plume of mist as the warm air in her mouth met the frigid air of the mountain. For a split second, her lips curled into a sadistic smirk as her mind traveled back to the time when her father had caught her smoking a cigarette for the first time. A shudder that had nothing to do with the cold traveled through her body like a contraction and the girl gave a low moan of fear as she remember the beating—and rape—her father had given her for that offense. Of course, it wasn’t like she got addicted to them or anything, but her father didn’t want anything to “ruin her perfect body.”
Suddenly, the very soft sound of shoes moving in the snow made the girl shift and look around, the muscles in her body tensing as though expecting an assualt. Her right hand drifted toward the pocket of her hoodie, slipping her hand inside of it; her slim fingers wrapped around the ornately carved handle of a green bladed dagger. She slid it out slowly, her eyes narrowing to slit of ice blue as the fear rose up in her throat; she could hear someone moving closer to her. Very slowly, she stood up, keeping her bod crouched slightly so that she could leap out to plant the blade deeply in the flesh of the person who was coming closer. She flinched slighly, eyes flicking to the side as she hard a rough howl sound closer than ever. Her upper lip twitched slightly, exposing a few of her sharp teeth.
Then, as the quiet sound of a voice spoke, she straightened and relaxed. It was another girl; younger than Aeryn, that she could see and clearly just as lost as the young Greek. Her voice was quiet and meek and it made Aeryn relax slightly. She sheathed he dagger and placed it back into her pocket, allowing her lips to twist into a slightly cold smile. "Get down, before the wolves notice." Aeryn hissed softly, reaching out to the girl to try and help her. If she didnt get down beneath the ledge, the wolves would notice that there were two verymuch alive humans, close to freezing to death, huddled on the side of this lonely mountain, rying to figure out where the hell they were. "Come on, I wont bite. Sheesh." She muttered under her breath, moving her hand in the come here motion to get her to come over.

The temerature was dropping lower as they stood, and it was begining to make Esme's feet hurt. When she had spoken, the girl had seemed relieved to see it was just another human, what had she been expecting? What she said next had made it obviouse, she had though Esme was a wolf. The girl had obviously heard the howling earlier, plus a closer one had sounded not long ago. They were getting closer, which sent a shiver down her spine.
When she saw her, a smile had jumped onto the girl face. One that made Esme feel uncertain about whether to go near her or not. The female motioned her over, under the cover of a ledge and away from the wolves. She edged cautiously towards her, and crouched down about two feet away, being careful to keep her distance. She couldn't afford to trust any old person, she was going to have to be careful, as she had no idea what the people around here were truly like.
Pulling her hoody tighter, she crossed her arms over her knees in an attempt to keep warmed. The snow was realy beginning to pour down now, and the wind was icey, wipping her light brown hair across her face.
Shivering slightly, Esme froze as the smell of wet fur faintly filled the air. Her eyes widened as the sound of paws shifting the snow came to her ears. She looked at the girl, fear i her eyes, and motioned her head as if saying 'Did you hear that?' Perhaps her mind was just playing games with her, adding nasty things to the cold situation, or perhaps not. They couldn't afford to ignore them, when ithey was so obviously there. The visious creatures couldn't be that far off now, but she couldn't tell how far, as the sounds around them echoed off of the mountain rocks.
Her chest tightened as the possiblities of what was about to happen to her jumped into her thoughts. What if the wolves found them, both the girls would be ripped to shreads, and although she was good with her bow and arrows, her hands were just to numb to use it.
