Cameron ----------------------------------------------------------------------- , You have stolen my heart You have stolen my heart
---------- Being alone in the world is hard, but having the world to yourself is a hell of a lot harder. Making her way to the base of the cascades took more out of her than she was planning, but she was dead set on getting a lion for own now, and African lions just didn't appeal to her. That left the Puma to seek out. Pushing her hands into her forehead, she felt the cold seep into her burning head. She wasn't planning on going high into mountains, so she wasn't worried about freezing to death. Right now, all that was on her mind was getting her Lion.
---------- Planning ahead you could call it, but Cam had already come up with a name and everything for her little kitty. She wanted her to be a girl, and of course she had come up with a feminine name only. Kara. Kara was a name that had popped into her head last night at about 3 AM. She liked the idea, and since then had the crazy idea to go found her mountain lion.
---------- With no one around to help her, this could easily get ugly. But Cameron didn't have any roots to tie her down. She wanted to take risks, and since no one cared about her enough to stop her, she followed what her body was telling her to do and she began the climb up the mountains.
---------- With the winter clouds rolling in, and the sun slowly vanishing, Cam's high optimistic feelings began to fade. What if she met a hungry lion? That wouldn't be very hard. Shaking from the cold air, and a little bit from fear, cam pushed herself further yet again. She made her way up higher than she planned to go, but the mountains seemed to stretch out into flatter ground, and a few trees were standing straight up to the sky. This gave Cam some hope, and she couldn't help but investigate.
---------- Reaching into her bag, she quickly pulled out some jerky that Liz had given her a few days ago, and began waving it out in front of her. The smell would most likely attract some animal. It only took a few moments before a large lion appeared on the scene. Cameron stepped back in complete fear this time. What had she been thinking? This cat was larger than her, and would most likely kill or seriously harm her. Her hands began to shake uncontrollably and she felt the urge to cry out in terror. Taking one last moment for herself before completely letting the fear in, Cameron threw the meat to the cat and slowly backed away. However, the cat just flicked her ear at the meat; she had no interest in the rotting food when a perfectly fresh victim stood in front of her. The girl felt a tear slip down her cheek.

Cam. He had just meet her like what, a week ago? And now here he was, following the blondie girl up the blasted mountain. Wasn't the Savanah good enough for her? When Gavin was finally just getting used to the climate, kinda enjoying it and then BOOM she has this crazy idea she wants some big kitty cat. So off he goes, following her all the way.
That wasn't exactly how he planned. She was a girl on the go, not the easy, 'do whatever' type of girl. Oh well, Gav could use a little bit of excirse, and most defiantly so could Alo, who was gaining lots of weight, weather from just plain growing or getting fat or lazy. But he was more willing to follow Cameron. He liked the aussie a lot actually, surprising Gavin. At least one of them was happy.
Well two. Gavin liked Cameron. A lot actually. How much he liked her didn't compare to previous girls. Yeah she was cute like the rest, but not the same. She could do whatever she wanted and not constantly care what he thought or what she looked like. And that was why, today he was following her up the mountain, with Alo a bit ahead of his now, and trailing a bit behind Cameron.
And he was kinda liking the view. He stopped to take a break, catching his breath and taking a water bottle out of his bag, while Alo speed up to follow Cam. After a few moments, he packed up his water bottle and continued on his way. But Cam and Alo where out of sight. He looked franticly around. The only other place they could have gone was forward, and lucky for him, Alo's huge bear paws told where he was headed.
So after quickly gaining confidence and moving forward, he saw the pair. Alo a bit of a ways behind Cam, and Cam a couple or so feet a head. Gavin whistle for Alo, but he stood stationary, as if frozen, and Cam herself looked a bit stiff. What was up with these two? He thought to himself as he jogged forward. "Come on'' He hissed in his grizzly compaion's ear, dragging the bear with him. But he wouldn't budge. "Fine, be that way. Follow me when he get out of her little state of being." He said bitterly. Why wasn't he listening?
So he moved up to Cameron's side. "First the the field, the Kenya, and now the mountain. Babe your kinda crazy." He said with a chuckle. But Cameron wasn't chuckling along, and he looked at her face and noticed for the first time a tear. What the bloody hell could she be crying about? Not stubbing her toe on a rock he could hope. But he followed her gaze forward and saw what seemed to be so terrifiying.
And it was a puma. Or a mountain lion, whatever you prefereed. "Shit." He cursed watching the big cat through narrowed eyes. Alo by this time, was at Alo's side. "Get behind me." He said to both of them, pushing himself infront of Cameron and taking out his dagger. But the puma just stared at them. Nothing. "Cam, I think its just curious."

Cameron ----------------------------------------------------------------------- , You have stolen my heart You have stolen my heart
---------- The lion had that look in it's eye. It wasn't here to play. It was here to make a meal of poor Cameron. She looked desperately at the jerky she had thrown on the ground, but the cat still had no interest in the rotten meat. Moving ever so slowly, Cam began backing out of clearing, trying carefully to make as little disturbance to the scene as possible. Didn't work. The cat's eyes were on Cam, and she began advancing on her prey. The girl closed her eyes. Make it quick!
---------- The loud footsteps and growls she heard from behind her were almost unbelievable. Had she died already? Risking a quick glance, Cam almost died in relieve as she saw the big Gavin, along with his grizzly bear, approaching the scene. She let out a shaky smile, and gladly let him shield her from the troublesome cat. Peering out from around Gavin's body; Cameron cast a curious glance at the feline. The lion seemed to be sizing up her opponants and thinking about if she could take them. Once the cat let out her growl of defiance; Cam knew that they had won.
---------- The cat began to exit the scene, but Cameron stopped her. Stepping out from around Gavin, she sprinted over to lion and literally jumped on top of her. What the bloody hell was she thinking? She wanted a lion. That's what she was thinking.
---------- What she hadn't thought about was the animals strength and how easily she could be beaten. Right now Cameron didn't even know why she had attacked the cat; but it was too late now. Fighting with all her strength, she pushed her body on top so she was crushing the cat to the ground. The feline bit her hand as she tried to keep the cat down, and Cam was forced to let out a scream. However; she didn't stop. She could feel the cat trying to kick out from underneath her, but this lion was young; maybe 8 months old. Plus she was female. Cameron's body was just too much of a disadvantage to the cat, and the lion was forced to give up. Cameron didn't get up after the cat had clearly given up. She looked over at Gavin and laughed, "Hey. How yeah doing?"
---------- Finally, Cameron got up off the kitty and picked her up in her arms. The cat wasn't likely going to put up a fight; Cam would just kick her ass again. Snuggling up into the warm kitty's fur, she walked over to Gavin and hissed, "Look at the time! We need to get some sleep!" Placing the kitty down on the ground next to her, Cameron curled around the cat, holding her in place. She didn't want her to escape during the night. Once the cat was nicely locked down, Cameron nodded her head at Gavin to come cuddle her.

Theres a thing called being Brave, and a thing called Courage, even a thing called Foritude. But being brave was doing some thing that was apparently expected to be a scary thing, but its really not all that scary to you, and then courage, where you are doing some thing scary and you really are afriad. And if you care about fortitude you can look it up in the dictionary.
And instead of admitting that Gavin actually was quiet frightened, he prefered to say showin courage, which sounded a lot better and....Manly. And so he really didn't know how to handle the bigg cat before. He'd just aussmeed that he'd let the puma make the first move, and try to play the defensive side. But to Gavin's glee, the cat turned away dejected. Yeah, he wasn't scared, pssh.
He felt great relif, more then he had ever felt before. For crying out loud he just faced off againest a Mountain Lion! And he didn't even know if they had those felines in the United Kingdom, he had barely even seen them on TV. If Gavin ever got the chance to go back home, he sure would have a story that no one would believe.
But no. Alo, he and Blondie would all die. Because Cameron just had to run away and follow the bloody animal. What was she trying to do? Make a meal out of it? Skin it and use the hide for some sort of rug? Gavin and Alo stared in shock as she leapt up upon the cat. "What the hell are you doing?!" He shouted out at her, his voice mingled with concern and anger at her.
He made an attempt to run over and pull the girl off the puma, but trying only made him get in the way of things. So he watched with horror as she rode the cat like a bucking bronco. Cameron seemed to be having the time of her life. "Having Heart attack thank you!" He called back to her. The cat was exauhuasted, and Gavin was still confused as to why Cameron was acting thid way.
"Your gonna sleep with that thing, that almost killed you?!" He said in astonishment. But he was sure that whatever he said wouldn't change her mind what so ever. "Your crazy." He said kissing her on the check and settling on the ground next to her. Not by that cat, he'd never trust to, but next to Cameron and with Alo's head slung over his side, he was plenty warm.

Cameron ----------------------------------------------------------------------- , You have stolen my heart You have stolen my heart
---------- As Cameron settled in with her "cat" thing, she felt the rumble of growls fade off the kitty in waves. Cam couldn't blame her, but a part of her felt disappointed. Maybe she was expecting the perfect friendship from the beginning. It seemed to be that way with Alo and Gavin, and that made Cameron want it for herself. As the cat began to pull away from her, Cameron found herself pulling the cat back. She had never gone against an animal's willpower but today must have been different because she ignored all of the cats calls and just held on to the cat's body tighter.
---------- With Gavin staring in disbelief at her, she almost giggled, but she wasn't in the mood right now. Her heart was dejected and she couldn't even break a smile on her lips. Taking a deep breath, she cuddled in closer to the unfriendly cat and shut her eyes. She just wanted to fall asleep. However her smile did come, and that was when she felt the brush of Gavin's lips against her cheek. She felt the heart rise in her body and she couldn't even imagine what that could mean. Did he like her? When Liz was so obsessed with him? Taking a deep breath, she turned her head to look in his eyes.
---------- He was there, and Cameron wasn't asleep. He might be in a light happy mood, but she was taking this seriously. She did feel something towards this boy, and she wanted it to go further. That's what she thought at least. The 16 year old might be wrong with her feelings, she couldn't know for sure if love is what she really wanted. It would be a wonderful feeling, being loved and looked after, but somewhere inside her, their was a gut feeling that told her that her feelings were moving too fast. This could be lust, and in that case, someone might get hurt when the lust finally began to fade.
-------------------------------------------------------------
---------- The next morning it was time to leave. Cameron knew that. She couldn't plan on staying in the mountains all winter. There was even a light blanket of snow on the ground that proved her point. With a puzzled feeling, she wondered how she could have survived this, but than she remembered that some time during the night, her cat had climbed on top of her and slept on a comfy couch while Cameron got a blanket. The girl wasn't really worried about Gavin, he had the giant blanket of Alo. But just in case, she wandered up to his sleeping body and lightly poked him on his feet. Content that he was still alive, Cameron began packing up her things in her bag. When she came across the jerky, she decided it might be worth it to try again. She watched the cat as she threw the meat over to her, and she was startled when the cat ate it.
---------- When her stuff was all packed up, she wondered as to how she was going to get the cat to follow her. The puma was large, so it might be hard to carry, but as of right now, that looked like her only option. Taking in a deep breath, she slung her backpack further on her back and walked up to the mountain lion. The female looked at her with wide eyes, but she didn't protest as Cameron picked her up in her arms and brought her close to her chest. The cat didn't even scratch her, which she so easily could have done. With a content smile, Cameron began walking back the way she had came. It wouldn't take too long to get down. Maybe 15 minutes at tops. "Come on Gavin! Don't be lazy!" She called happily.

Somewhere... The girl moved up the mountain slowly, taking her time to watch her footing. This place could be a deathtrap if even one wrong step was taken. But she was too smart to get hurt. Holding her bow in her right hand, grip light, she ascended a small boulder, and stood atop it for a moment, gazing around. The mountain was barren, snow-covered. But she had seen tracks in the snow leading up here, given they were snowed over and hard to tell what exactly they belonged to. She was hoping that it was some prey animal. Or perhaps even a small predator that she could catch. Anything to get food. She had grown thinner since her arrival to Echo, her wounded arm making it extremely hard to hunt without detection; the animals always smelled the blood. But it had been awhile since she had received the wound, and it was healing rather nicely. She had wrapped it firmly in the left sleeve that she had cut off her jacket, and stuck the two pieces of her broken arrow into the bandage for safe-keeping. She hoped it would keep the smell of blood off.
Come on, show your face. I know you're here somewhere. She crouched down on the boulder she was on, placing her butt on the cold stone with a shiver. She knocked her only working arrow, and held the bow at the ready. Her blue eyes scanned the terrain, searching for the maker of the tracks she had seen. So far, nothi-wait. There! Drawing her bow back, she took aim at a small patch of movement up ahead. The view was blocked by another rock. Releasing the tension on her bow, she hopped down lightly from her boulder, landing softly and quietly on the snow. Crouching slightly, she moved forward to the rock. Peering around it, she drew back her bow again, prepared to shoot quickly. Wha-? She was caught completely off-guard when she spotted a human carrying a puma as if it were some docile house cat. She lowered her bow lightly, keeping the tension on the string. She didn't trust other humans. But because it was female, she was a little bit more okay with it than if it had been a male.
I don't want her to see me. She'll try to take pity on poor little wounded me. Like everyone else. Nearly growling, she started to back up, eyes never leaving the two. Her foot slipped on a rock, sending it flying into a small pile of other rocks and creating a huge clatter. Crow, having lost her footing, fell backwards onto her butt, holding her bow tightly so that the arrow didn't fly off. She couldn't afford to lose the arrow, it was the only working one she had. If she tried to craft any others they wouldn't be straight, and wouldn't fly right. Not to mention that they'd need broad heads to be hunting arrows. Gritting her teeth, she attempted to stand back up, feeling her wounded left arm begin to pulsate with pain from her beating heart as it pushed blood past the wound, threatening to make her bleed again.
