Personality: Nina is an unusual kid. Her personality seems too sophisticated and mature for one so young. Her mind is ambitious and strategic, striving for success at all times. Competitive and outgoing, Nina gets her point across in the most dramatic way possible--often motivating herself and others around her. Because of this, she can give the impression that she is bossy although her true nature is quite shy and insecure; her troubled past made sure of that. Being the best is all that matters to Nina as she was taught this from a young age, second place is just as shameful as last; only winners have the right to survive and Nina excels at surviving. Her quick thinking and intelligence secure her place in the world, saving her life in the worst possible scenarios.
However, there is another side to Nina that isn't so pleasant. Competitiveness can get the better of her and she is compelled to do whatever it takes to come first; no matter what the cost, all logic reason is lost on her when she is in reach of a goal, even taking someone else's life for her own sake or others would not phase her. A greed for power and respect is a bad trait in Nina's personality. Having said that, she is polite at all times to those older than her but commands respect from those below her.
Animals are a particular fascination for Nina. Having spent years with her parents, who were Zoologists, she has lots of knowledge on almost every species. She is in awe of every creature, their instincts to survive inspire her and makes her determination to succeed even greater. Despite her bad points, Nina is over all a courageous, brave young girl who has the potential to be a great friend or anything else that she wishes.
Description: Tall, and slim would be the best way to describe Nina's build. At 5 foot 9 inches and still growing, she is destined to be a very tall young lady with her muscles, lean, wiry, flat; showing true strength. She moves like a lion with her stride long and graceful, emphasising her trimmed physique and obvious strength. Although she is young, her body has developed at a quicker pace than is normal, because of the vigorous exercise that traveling alone commands, but only a subtle hint of her womanly curves and small bust tell of her slowly approaching adulthood.
Heart shaped with still the childish roundness, her face is pleasing to look at. Her eyes are wide set, green ovals within her face with high cheekbones and a full pout. Finely arched eye brows add to her interesting and not entirely beautiful appearance. Waves of dark blonde with golden highlights tumble down her back, waist length and thick but often tied back out of her face for practical reasons. Her skin is golden from days in the sun but it is also her original skin colour; inherited from her parents. She speaks with a thick Russian accent that is sometimes hard to comprehend but it portrays her exotic origin and her uniqueness.
History: Born in the harsh, Arctic-like conditions of Siberia, Russia, Nina was content to live with her parents, studying the wildlife as Zoologists. Her mother taught her everything about the world and was her sole, close companion for the first ten years of her life. Nina's father on the other hand was a distant, aloof man teaching in his own subtle way, the importance of respect and politeness. She never had a proper bond with her father and its has affected her usually confident ability to talk to the opposite sex and it was her father that encouraged her to go and explore on her own the Siberian wilderness. Now, any normal person would have thought, "What the hell? No way!", but Nina knew she was capable of staying alive in the snow and freezing temperatures plus her father had started to become abusive and she couldnt wait to leave. There is more to her time spent with her family but it pains her to speak of it, she vowed that gaining self pity from others was a weakness and she refuses to tell anyone. Her mother pleaded her not to go but she took no notice; her goal now set in stone and she was determined to carry it out. Her goal was to find and explore all the wilderness she could find or come across. That was how she stumbled upon the Lands of Echo...
